I had so many ideas.
There were so many things I wanted to try.
There were so many things I wanted to do.
I was overloaded and overwhelmed with all of the options.
I’ve boiled it down.
I did it through trial and error.
I went through the process of elimination.
Now there are so few things important to me and so few things I care about.
I’m underwhelmed with the lack thereof.
It’s funny how things change.
It reminds me of the words from Shunryu Suzuki:
“In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s there are few.”
Figure out what you want and don’t want.
Figure out the kind of life you want to live and the kind you don’t.
Then say yes to the things that align and no to everything else.
I’m not saying I have it all figured out.
I have a long ways to go.
But over time if you pay attention and think and feel and are aware, things slowly start becoming a little more clear.
