I recently started tapering for the marathon I’m running.

Tapering is not the time to prove how hard I can work and how tough I am.

Tapering is not the time to try new things and do things I haven’t done thus far.

Tapering is the time to cut back and do less.

Tapering is the time to maintain and stay sharp.

Tapering is the time to prove how smart I am.

Tapering is the time to conserve energy and replenish.

Tapering is the time to rest and focus on recovery.

Tapering is the time to get healthy and fresh.

If you properly trained and prepared, you should feel a sense of peace.

You did the work.

You earned this.

Sit back, kick your feet up, relax, and enjoy.
