Yesterday when I was finishing my run I thought, “Running doesn’t make my happy.”
Running doesn’t make me happy while I’m doing it.
I’m not happy while running.
But when I’m done I feel a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.
I feel like I did something good and nice for myself.
I’m rewarded with a high like no other.
And those feelings bring me joy and make me happy.
Maybe the way to happiness is an indirect path.
Maybe the way to happiness is by doing something something hard, something that doesn’t feel good, or something that we don’t necessarily want to do.
We may not like it while we’re doing it.
It may not make us happy while we’re doing it.
But we’ll be rewarded with a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.
Those feelings will be accompanied with pure joy and euphoria.
Just like running, I’m always happy I did it and am always better for it.
Satisfaction is happiness.
Do something satisfying.
