Reflecting on my morning running workout…

The workout was supposed to be 3 x 1 mile, 2-3 minute recovery, 2 x 1 mile.

That’s 5 miles worth of work in about 26 minutes and 40 seconds.

I did about 4.5 miles of work in about 24 minutes.

I cut it a little bit short.

I knew I had enough.

I focus on the .5 miles of work and 2.5 minutes I didn’t do rather than all I did do.

I’m coming off 7 straight days of running and a 70 mile week. My legs are tired.

It was about 80°, 90% humidity, and felt like 90°.

I’m not making excuses. These are facts.

The point is I’m so hard on myself.

We’re so hard on ourselves.

As a friend has told me multiple times, show myself some grace.

Show yourself some grace.

Take it easy on ourselves.

Be gentle with ourselves.

Be kind to ourselves.

Celebrate everything we are rather than everything we’re not.

Celebrate everything we can do rather than everything we’ve yet to do.

Celebrate everything we’ve done rather than everything we’ve yet to do.

Just do our best and make progress.

That is enough.

I am enough.

You are enough.
