This Sunday I’ll be running the Naples Half Marathon.
This will be my first time running this race and only my second half marathon ever.
Am I nervous? Yep.
Am I ready to do this thing already? Yep.
A few months ago I set the goal to run it in under 1 hour and 10 minutes (5:20 per mile).
That’s still the goal. That’s what I’m going to attempt to do this weekend.
That’s a big goal. It’s bold. It’s going to be hard.
There’s a chance I hit it and a chance I miss. But I’m betting on myself.
I’m not embarrassed to come up short. I do have a problem with not trying. I have the courage to try. I’m going for it.
I’ve worked hard. I’ve trained hard. I’ve prepared. I won’t back down. I won’t hold back.
No matter what happens on Sunday – barring a tragedy – life will go on. I refuse to say I didn’t try.
Be bold. Set monster goals. Then pour everything you have into crushing them.
Let’s go.
