Meg and I were in the back of this police car in Chicago.

I was stumbling up Michigan Avenue.

This police officer saw me limping after the marathon.

He could tell I was struggling.

He offered us a ride.

We were about a mile away from our hotel at the time.

This usually would be nothing, but after running a hard 26.2 miles, a mile seemed like eternity.

He picked us up and dropped us off just around the block from our hotel

Thank you for the ride Officer Davey. Thank you for the good deed.

More importantly, thank you for keeping us safe and protecting us. And thank you for your service.
