I thought I was Superman. Ha.
I thought I could help everybody with everything and do everything for everybody.
I thought I could solve the world’s problems and save the world.
I can’t be everything to everybody. I can’t save the world.
The truth is some days I can barely take care of myself. Some days I can barely take care of myself.
I have my own problems. I need help.
So here’s where I stand:
I can’t help everybody, but I can listen. We can try to help. We can do our best to help. Sometimes just showing up and being there for somebody is helping. Listening is helping. If there’s nothing else we can do, we can give somebody some time and listen.
I may not be Superman, but maybe I do have a superpower after all. We all have a superpower. We have to use it. Our superpower is listening. Listen.
