I remember my dad saying, “I don’t mind spending money. I don’t like wasting money.”

I can get on board with this.

There’s a difference between spending and wasting.

When we spend money on things like going out to eat, going to a sporting event, concert, show, or museum, and going on vacation, that’s time with our loved ones. Those are experiences had and memories created.

These things are not wasting. These things are living. There’s a positive return on our investment with happiness, pleasure, enjoyment, fun, laughs, smiles, learning, and new perspectives.

Be intentional with how we spend. Make sure we’re getting something for our money and not just throwing our money down the drain.

Spend. Enjoy. Live. Waste as little as possible.
